FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there member location restrictions?
AUS/NZ Residents:
Applicants who reside in either Australia/New Zealand will have no location restrictions when applying for the unit.
Residents outside AUS/NZ:
Restrictions will apply for members who reside outside Oceania. This however does not mean you cannot submit an application for the unit. Each case is handled independantly by our recruitment staff who will review your case and come to an appropriate outcome.
We encourage all potential applicants to contact us regarding their situation so that we can advise you if joining ASEC is a possibility.
Do I require a working mircophone?
YES. A working microphone is required in order to join the unit.
Applicants that apply without microphones will have their application suspended until they can organise a working microphone.
Can I join if I'm a member of another modern MILSIM/REALISM unit?
As a member of another MILSIM/REALISM unit, within the same vein as ASEC, regardless of mission times is not pewrmitted.
Members of units who are based within fantastical genres, such as Star Wars or Halo and RP communitys who operate on non-conflicting schedules and have a different playstyle are permitted.
We advise that if you have any concern about the unit you are currently in not meeting the above requirements to contact our recruitment staff via discord.
Do I need a legitimate copy of Arma 3?
YES. A legitimate copy of Arma 3 is required in order to join the unit.
Applicants that apply without a legitment copy will have their application suspended until they can organise a legitimate copy.
Do I need Arma 3 DLC to play?
NO. DLC is not required to join our unit.
However we do encourage members to aquire DLC when it's on sale if able. As mission makers are allowed to utilise DLC content within their missions if they so desire. This may lead to a restriction of your experience should you not own the assets used.
Does it cost money to play?
NO. Payment is not required in order to join the unit.
Unit costs are covered by the unit owner and founder LTCOL LeBloinkski. ASEC does accept donations to offset the out of pocket costs, these are truly appriciated no matter the ammount.
